About Emily’s Art

Artist's workspace with painting supplies, including brushes, paints, and a painting in progress. A tattooed arm reaches for a paint container.

I love the concept that ‘two things can be true at once.’ My work explores these co-existent contrasts—where something can feel retro and contemporary, equally rough and sophisticated, beautiful and perilous, funny and scary. Because as humans, we’re full of contradictions and tensions that are worth exploring.

I use these opposing forces to challenge the viewer, inviting them to confront the paradoxes within themselves. I hope to spark appreciation of the complexity of what it means to be human.
